The big squeeeeze

with 3 comments

I’m going a little bit bodysuit mad just now, goodness knows why, and recent discoveries have only furthered this obsession until all I seem to be able to think about are semi-indecent, skin tight, figure hugging, glorified swimsuits.

Sass & Bide and ASOS:

And ever since I saw Susie looking this good:

I would consider this Topshop Unique baby, yes, it’s a swimsuit, but it works!:

Not to mention the new mighty monarchs of bodysuits, moving on from tights and I CAN ONLY HOPE towards a full collection a season very soon, Bebaroque:

Oh, and reserving the best and most beautiful until last:

JUST HOW BEAUTIFUL IS THATTTTTTT, VERY VERY VERY.
To conclude: I need a lovely bodysuit, sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooon. Tucked under some loose manly-cut trousers, I’m basically incapable of typing when I think about it, disproportionate reaction or what.

Jaws?

with one comment

I looooove reading through all the comments left here, and one in particularly from Rachel jogged my memory of one of my favourite places in Edinburgh, the Red Door Gallery, a little gallery and shop stocking designers and artists from all over the place. I bought this little brooch there aaaages ago, and it has been hiding in a drawer ever since, which seems a bit tragic to me! And so out it comes for this evening’s antics:

Yes alright, I appear to be flipping obsessed with the notion of animals within the fashion world in the past few days, sorry! If you ask me, sharks are terrifying, prehistoric type creatures that somehow survived from an age of dinosaur superiority (I shudder at the mere thought of their 564784389 teeth!), but this little stuffed fabric version in 60s florals couldn’t be less intimidating. How twee!

Louise Gray!

with 3 comments

A taste of lovely Louise Gray‘s SS2010 collection. Her embroidery skills are top! Not only this, but as most of you are already aware and have been for a while, she has collaborated with ASOS (and in my eyes, her collection there is even better):

The t-shirt is so charming, like a saucy little geometric bikini print, exactly the type of thing I can imagine pairing with Uniqlo trousers/pastel jeans (more on those soon, I couldn’t resist) and perfect for jazzing up the darker months and suiting summer down to a tee!

Mark Fast A/W2010

with one comment

I’m a firm believer in what my mum always taught me: If you’ve nothing nice to say, don’t say anything at all. However, I feel compelled to mention something plaguing my mind, and that is Mark Fast’s A/W2010 show, recently capturing headlines due to his use of larger models. I applaud his sentiment wholeheartedly – if I had the power I’d banish some of the most sickly looking rake-like things from fashion shows immediately and replace them with healthy happy ladies of all ages! But his use of the models in question (ladies with beautiful assets, I might add, boobs like that would have me grinning ear to ear everyday!) was so poorly executed that I feel that the whole venture may have failed:

Unflattering choices that would do nobody any favours, I fear. Such a disappointment!
However, his collection did contain this caped creation:

Deeeeeelectable!

Miu miu/mew mew!

with 8 comments

Everyone has seen Miu Miu latest offerings already, and so I offer up nothing new but to point at them and make cooing noises (accompanied by a photo of my own pretty little pussy cat, I’M SORRY I COULDN’T HELP MYSELF). However, were I to adorn myself head to foot in delightful little cats, not only would I get nowhere fast (I’d be faaaaar too busy noticing and re-noticing their tiny, sweet little faces and paws…), but I think I’d look like an overgrown 6-year old. Not a problem often experienced by lovely, lanky models, but definitely a hurdle I can see myself banging into with great force.

Anyway, as much as I love my kitten friends and Miu Miu’s take on them, I’m much preferring the exotic side of this season.

Oui oui!

Sessun Spring/Summer 2010, I’m in loooove! Classic cuts, delicious tones, springtime in Paris!

And from their covertable lookbook:

I am bagging me even the tiniest hint of these looks as soon as the weather perks up. Paired with some print/colour these will be delectable.
