Tippity tips!

with 13 comments

I’ve not been blogging very long, but I have been reading blogs for quuuuuuite some time. I got tired of sitting on the sidelines and missing out on really giving my input, hence this current, superbly self-indulgent attempt at keeping a blog. But now there are quite a few of you out there reading, which surprises and pleases me in equal measure, and I only felt it fair to include some of my favourite blogs that I enjoy reading in order that you can all (hopefully) enjoy them as much as I do!

Nowadays it’s extremely easy to love and stick with high quality classic cuts, draping fabrics, neutral colours that cross over from season to season, easy to layer in the winter and just covering us enough in the summer! Trine does all of the above extremely well, it must be said, an inspiration as far as all that goes). Whilst I love the classis statement pieces and looks as much as anybody, Susie at Style Bubble manages to avoid it wholeheartedly, everyday producing outfits that are beautifully matched and never, ever boring, not to mention writing eloquently (all too often neglected in blogging) and seeming delightfully approachable with every post. She is an inside view into what’s a-hip-hop-happening in fashion circles but never makes her all-too-mortal readers feel shut out. She manages to take bits of this and that and the other from current seasons and champions new, young designers, and for that reason she is my number one blogger. Predictable, many will say, but I see no point in denying my admiration for the lovely lady herself!

Movin on from Susie, I’m a recent convert to Natalie at Canned Fashion: she does the clogs and socks combination better than I’ve seen anyone do it, for one thing, but also writes lovely, witty little posts that have quickly made her one of my top blogging go-to spots!

As I said, I’ve not been blogging for very long, but Clare of Tweet has been reading from an early stage, and I’ve been following her for equally as long! Her blog is always a joy to read as there’s simply always something new and exciting being heralded in, interesting interviews and selected editorials galore! Plus the fact that she is extremely lovely, which I for one do consider very important. Last but not least, Amy at Wolf Whistle is always worth a good read, plenty of interesting things going on there and this has only been proven by her recent competition win (congratulations!), Gloria’s Jeans always inspires a style-related chuckle on my part, good posts and gooooood writing, Hanneli is a beautiful lady capturing beautiful people on film out and about and was recently captured herself by Vogue, and Ella’s blog is always full of lovely things and bits of inspiration.

Something of a whistle-stop tour of my computer bookmarks, but hopefully some enjoyment for an otherwise quiet sunday evening, which I am about to enrich with a cup of green earl grey tea (is this combination even possible?!? it tastes sublime, my friend brought it over from Denmark but I don’t know whether some Dane just invented a new concoction all by themself…), hopefully finishing a little of an assignment (my deadlines are horribly impending and I’m horribly behind, and yet still making time for blogging, such bad planning on my part) and then my second flatmate returns home after a weekend away, hurrah! Oh, and check out my amarylis:

It just started blooming today and I am stupidly excited, like a child growing cress for the first time!
